BESTPORT VENTURES TAKES STAKE IN ORACLE CARE LTD

Bestport backs Oracle Care, a leading specialist education and care company, as part of £3.5 million fundraising to support the next phase of expansion

Bestport Ventures LLP (“Bestport”) is pleased to announce that it has invested £2.0 million as part of a £3.5 million fundraising round in Oracle Care Limited (“Oracle”),

a specialist education, therapeutic and residential care service designed to support young people, aged between ten and eighteen who have a range of complex needs.

Oracle (www.oraclecare.com), founded in 2006 and already providing a national resource out of two schools in Staffordshire and Bedfordshire, has grown rapidly since inception to become a provider of high quality education and therapy that help pupils to control their behaviour, take learning seriously, and make good progress across the board. The Oracle curriculum is broad and tailored to meet the severe and highly specific needs of each pupil. Moreover, the Oracle teaching is supported by an exemplary range of assessment techniques, some of which are highly innovative.

Following the successful fundraising, Oracle will commence the next phase of expansion which will reach out to more residential and day pupils in the two existing schools and expand the service provision on a regional basis in selected new locations. The investment was provided by funds managed and advised by Bestport.

Ole Bettum has joined the board of Oracle Care. Ole is Managing Partner and co-founder of Bestport and has backed a number of successful businesses in health and education including Careforce Group, Healthcall Optical, Grosvenor Health, Dolphin Day Nurseries and Eastern Family Services.
